Something not working?

Write to [email protected]. A person reads it, there is only one of us, and you will normally hear back within two working days.

It helps if you include your iPhone model, the iOS version, and roughly when it happened. If a hug failed, the time is enough for us to find it; please don't send us the photographs.

A hug failed and my credit is gone

It isn't. A hug that fails or is refused returns your credit automatically, and you should see the counter go back up when you return to the home screen. If it hasn't after a few minutes, write to us with the approximate time and we will put it right.

My purchase didn't arrive

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases. That re-checks with Apple and applies anything you have already paid for. If it still doesn't appear, send us the receipt Apple emailed you and we will credit it by hand.

I changed phones and my credits are missing

Credits are tied to your account, and without Sign in with Apple there is no account to move them to, because the app cannot tell one anonymous device from another. Sign in with Apple on both phones and your balance follows you. If you have already lost a balance this way, write to us.

The faces don't look like us

Try photographs where both faces are lit from the front, reasonably sharp, and not too small in the frame. Sunglasses, heavy shadow, motion blur and very low-resolution scans are what throw it off most. Every hug returns three versions. They differ, and one is often much closer than the others.

How do I delete everything?

Settings, then Delete account. It removes your prints, your uploads and your identifiers. Uploaded originals are deleted within 24 hours in any case, whether or not you ask. Details are in the privacy policy.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases go through the App Store, so refunds are Apple's to give, so use reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, tell us and we will add the credits back regardless of what Apple decides.

Is the photograph real?

No. It is generated by an image model from the two photographs you provide, and it shows a moment that never happened. It is a keepsake, not a record.
